The sixteen verbs below are among the most used in Italian, and none follows the regular pattern. Each card gives the present tense and the everyday past. In many of them the noi and voi forms stay regular while the other four change.

A regular participle ends in -ato, -uto or -ito. These common verbs do not follow that pattern. Tags show the usual helper: essere for verbs that normally take essere, and essere / avere for verbs that take either one depending on how they are used. Untagged verbs normally take avere.
